LaserPeel Treatment
NanoLaserPeel vs. MicroLaserPeel - What’s the Difference?
The 2 procedures are identical in terms of preparation and treatment. The differences is in the depth. A NanoPeel is a shallower laser peel which helps to restore a youthful glow. A MicroPeel goes deeper and is used to reduce wrinkles, acne scarring, etc. As the MicroPeel goes deeper, the period of redness post treatment will be longer.
Below you will find information on both types of treatment. Upon meeting you at your consultation, Beth will determine which procedure will best suit your needs.
NanoLaserPeel Treatment
Nothing shows age like our skin. If your skin looks dull and tired, you may be considering (or already doing) treatments like a chemical peel or microdermabrasion. These are treatments that remove the top layer of the skin promoting new skin to grow from underneath and may be right for you but there are other options that may be a better fit for your skin care needs.
The Nano Laser Peel from Sciton can do much more. It uses light energy to instantly remove the top layers of the skin at a depth that also accelerates the skin’s own renewal process by activating special messenger cells. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels may not get deep enough and other laser treatments leave a layer of heat-damaged cells that interrupt the ability of these messenger cells to communicate with deeper layers of skin. The Nano Laser Peel from Sciton has the precision to work at just the right depth, creating beautiful, luminous skin.
The gentle power of light instantly removes dull layers of skin.
Fast and easy procedure
Minimal downtime
Skin feels soft and super smooth
Great complement to facial injectable procedures
What is NanoLaserPeel?
NanoLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth. The procedure is performed in our office and can be custom tailored to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome.
How does NanoLaserPeel work?
The NanoLaserPeel beam is scanned over a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of the skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. Plus it activates messenger cells to trigger the body’s natural healing process. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved colour evenness. Clients often say that it looks like their skin went from tired to vibrant.
What conditions can be treated with NanoLaserPeel?
Mild wrinkles
Scars
Keratosis
Sun damage (e.g. freckles)
Pigment Irregularities
What areas of the body can be treated?
Most skin areas can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face and neck, although some people also have the hands and chest treated. Book a consultation to discuss your needs with us.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and a topical freezing cream will be applied for 1 hour. As you begin your treatment, your eyes will be protected with safety shields. The laser handpiece will be positioned above the skin and it will be held in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area.
Will it be uncomfortable?
One of the primary advantages of the NanoLaserPeel is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deeply into the skin. With topical freezing, there is very little if any discomfort.
What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you will notice that the skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within a few days following the treatment. You may experience some skin redness and a sensation resembling a sunburn, as well as mild swelling.
When should I expect results?
Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most clients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture, and colour evenness once the skin heals in approximately 2-3 days.
MicroLaserPeel Treatment
What is MicroLaserPeel?
A MicroLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth. How many treatments will I need?
Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, however, the number of treatments needed may vary from patient to patient. Dr. Bonnett can personalize a plan based on your specific needs and may chose to combine MicroLaserPeel with other aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Dr. Bonnett will position the laser hand piece above the skin and will hold it in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
Will it be uncomfortable?
One of the primary advantages of MicroLaserPeel is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. At its most shallow settings, most people can tolerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. At deeper settings, a topical numbing cream is typically used.

Immediately after the treatment you will notice that the skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within next few days following the treatment. You may experience some skin redness and a sensation resembling sunburn, as well as mild swelling.
How long will it take to recover?
Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 3 to 4 days – an attribute that has given rise to the nickname “the weekend peel.”
What aftercare do I need?
You will be given skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of solar protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.
When should I expect results?
Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and colour evenness once the skin heals in approximately 3-4 days. Full results can take up to 2 months.
